Season 2 Episode 5

Season 2 Episode 5
Boeser's Hat Trick and Podcon***

We have just survived Week 5! Well, we survived it a while ago. :( It's now almost the end of week 6 - I have to apologize I had some editing issues. I attempted a time-saving process, which failed - and you can still hear part of that failure in the pregame show. It cuts me off in several places, but at least it was overall okay - the rest of the pod was unlistenable, so I had to find time to go back and fix the rest of it. So, sorry that it's late, and sorry about the quality of the pregame. Anywho...

The Canucks started the week in amazing fashion with an epic win over the Penguins, which is our featured game. Then the week basically got ugly and we finished up losing 4 of 5 and our last two games against the Sharks and the Ducks. Those SoCal teams, as usual, giving the Canucks fits. But at least the week is over with one huge bright spot.

In this episode I look at the game against the Penguins... and boy did that game go south quick for Crosby and his flightless fellows. It was Ovi last week and Crosby this week - Boeser just likes taking on the big-guns it seems. Huge night for Brock - he gets his very first NHL hattie, and the Canucks have a pretty good game all the way around. So glad this was the game I featured!

My predictions went better as I went 3W 2L for a total of 8W 8L... I'm a working coin again! lol The week to come looks difficult, but there will still be awesome stuff to talk about and Canucks minutia to pour over, so we'll see you then! Thanks so much for listening! And if you have any comments, or just want to say hello: email me at canuckscornerpod@gmail.com - it'd be awesome to hear from you!

Until we pod again... keep your stick on the ice!

***Oh, wait!!! Before you go! I'm be attending podcon in Seattle on Dec. 9th-10th, and if you want to meet up, just hit me with an email at canuckscornerpod@gmail.com and we'll make arrangements to get together and talk some hockey - or whatever! Hopefully, we'll see you there!

We have just crushed Week 4! Things continue to look good for the Canucks. Even when they lose, they lose well; so well, that they've reminded me of the 1981-82 Canucks "lunch bucket" squad. A team who came to work every game, with only one plan: to make it as hard as it can be on the opposing team. Sometimes they would win, but many times they lost - BUT - they always made the opponents pay dearly for their wins. The Oilers could come in and beat us 5-1 and feel like they've just played a hellish 7-game playoff series. No one, not even The Great One himself took the Canucks for granted that season. Now I'm not saying that we're off to the Cup - but I'm saying that teams like Washington better not be coming in here expecting us to fold.

In this episode I look at the game against those same Washingtonians... and boy did the Canucks capitalize on a team not ready to fight. I won't tell you who won, but let's just say that Ovechkin and his boys might have just got stung by some Killer Bs.

Well, not so great with the predictions this time out. 1W 2L for a total of 5W 6L... I'm a broken coin, it seems. ;)  The week to come looks exciting, and I, for one can't wait for the next episode; it may be even better than this one! Thanks so much for listening! And if you have any comments, or just want to say hello: email me at canuckscornerpod@gmail.com - it'd be awesome to hear from you!
